Mommy Lotion- Nipple Protectant

Mommy Lotion is a great choice for breastfeeding moms. It is lanolin-free and with regular use can help soothe & restore sore, cracked nipples as well as helping to protect nipples from additional damage. The ingredients are safe and organic, full of healthy fats and soothing baby-safe herbs/botanicals so you don't need to wipe it off before nursing*. It also makes a great lip balm and all over skin softening salve.

This product comes in a glass jar with a metal lid and contains 1.7 oz of product by weight.

Mommy Lotion Contains:

Grass-fed and Hand-Rendered Tallow- Tallow and human skin are incredibly compatible. Grass-fed tallow contains essential vitamins that help your skin perform a host of functions that help it maintain a healthy state. These nutrients are an easy-to-absorb source of nourishment to the skin.

Shea Butter-Jojoba is softening and moisturizing to the skin. It's a liquid wax that closely matches our skin's sebum. It’s nonallergenic, noncomedogenic, gentle and doesn't easily oxidize. 

Calendula soothes and brings quicker restoration to skin and is a calming, safe herb for baby.

Marshmallow Root is a mucilage, making it cooling, softening and soothing to sore skin. We use organically grown whole herb parts and infuse them in our oils to capture a broader spectrum of the plants benefits.

Ingredients: Grass-fed and Hand Rendered Tallow from Lebanon County, PA, Shea Butter, *Calendula Flower, *Marshmallow Root, Beeswax.

This product is essential oil free!

How to Use: Apply on clean, dry nipples. Rub a small dollop of lotion between fingers—it doesn’t take very much because this spreads nicely with body heat—and gently smooth onto your nipples and areolas.

If you are concerned about getting lotion on your clothing, put a nursing pad or cloth inside your bra.

If the lotion has soaked into your skin when your baby wants to nurse next, the ingredients are edible and safe. However, if you have any concerns or if there is still residue, feel free to wipe it away to make sure baby can latch on well.

Tallow products contain no preservatives or stabilizers, so if placed in a warm environment they may melt, causing separation. This is normal and does not cause any change in the product, simply mix gently and store in a cool place. Additionally, if placed in a cool environment they may be more firm.

*Note that if you have an allergy to the Asteraceae plant family, calendula should be avoided.
